Gun Control - The Most Controversial Issue in America

Gun Control - The Most Controversial Issue in AmericaAt first glance, it might seem that the issue of gun control may be one of the most controversial issues in the United States. But as you read the statistics that show how often gun related crime is committed, it is clear that there is a very real problem with guns that can easily end up making this an extremely important issue.Unfortunately, it doesn't take much for someone to have access to a gun. A person who has access to one does not need a background check to get one. They don't need a licensing process to obtain one. There are many people who need a gun for protection on a daily basis, so it would be a little bit unreasonable to expect that we can put a lock on every door that leads to a gun store.Guns are used for everyday purposes. In fact, a lot of the time, these guns are used for self defense. When someone uses their gun to protect themselves, it's often because they are actually being attacked. But when a gun is found in the hands of a criminal, it could mean that someone has been murdered. These laws can sometimes be tough to enforce. But the more that we look at these issues, the more we realize that we need to work hard to make sure that criminals are not buying guns. It is too easy for them to buy guns, and it will only become harder to enforce the laws to take them away from people who are already abusing the system. So, what can we do to make sure that we aren't just jumping on something, or waiting for some common sense to happen? The most popular way that we do this is by passing more gun laws. And there is really no reason that a good majority of these laws should pass.Just about any law can be abused, especially if there is a gun that is available. In other words, even if a law passes that makes it illegal to sell more than one gun per month, it doesn't necessarily stop those people from selling multiple guns in the event that they run out. There is nothing stopping them from selling you another gun in order to get their money. So, what is the most honest thing that we can say about this issue? That we do not want to stop criminals from getting guns. We want to make it easier for law abiding citizens to protect themselves, and this is probably the most honest position that we can take.Gun control is a very controversial issue, but it is still one that we must take into account when deciding whether or not to make this a top priority. It is much easier to put up a fence, than it is to keep guns away from dangerous people.
